This course looks at the requirements to provide First Aid knowledge within an organisation, deemed as a low risk environment by HSE. The First Aid at Work Initial Course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 amended October 2009. Successful delegates receive certificates to show that they are qualified to be First Aiders in the workplace for the next three years.

Who should attend?

Any person who is to be designated as a First Aider at work within a low risk environment. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation to make First Aid provision for their employees.

Benefits to you

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • provide emergency first aid at work
  • administer first aid to a casualty with: – injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries;
  • chest injuries
  • burns and scalds
  • anaphylactic shock
  • eye injuries
  • sudden poisoning
  • recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes).

  • Control of bleeding, Burns and scalds

Successful delegates will receive an FAIB approved certificate valid for 3 years
